Dr. Ohara made a number of conference presentations about surgical treatment for skin diseases and was instrumental in writing scientific articles and distributing them globally.　Some of his books are translated in to Chinese in Taiwan.
He has been actively involved in the establishment and operation of the Japanese Association of Dermatologic Surgery .
